For whom the bell tolls

A guy who attends lectures with me jumped to his death just the other day. They assume he took the fall in a fit of rage. Among other things, I suppose.

I've hardly acknowledged his existence, much less know him personally.

However, I do admit feeling a tinge of guilt. I mean, the guy ever sat next to me. I had the chance to talk to him and maybe show him a less drastic catharsis.

Whatever it was he wanted to achieve with this, no one may ever know for certain. I am certain, however, that it was meant to be of great impact, and this is its impact on me.

So, through this post, as both catharsis for me and eulogy for him, I pray his purpose doesn't go unheard.
