It's Sunk into Me

It's frightening how something as innocent or as seemingly insignificant as a childhood fear can grow and evolve.

It starts out as a sole voice warning you. A voice which grows into a thousand voices and then after a while, a long while, either by total harmony or physical conditioning, it becomes something like white noise and you almost stop hearing it.

And it becomes a part of you: it's the only thing you know, the only thing you feel, the only way you want to feel and the only way you react. So, your life, your decisions, your relationships are just a result of this one apparently tiny fear.

And, I don't know about you but it scares the hell out of me.
